An account of working at Lever Brothers, Port Sunlight, based on interviews with 14 'ordinary men and women' who undertook routine tasks across the plant. Organised by interviewee and the text of his or her [edited?] interview. Interviews deal with such subjects as the nature of work; relationship with colleagues and managers; working conditions; home life; etc; and cover the period 1930s to 1980s. Occupation of people interviewed, most of whom were retired, included process operator; machine operator; carton maker; chimney sweep; HGV driver; production planner; mechanical fitter; nurse; etc
