Harry Varley, retired 1957 aged 66, was a mechanical engineer employed by several motor vehicle producers, notably designing new or improved engines. In particular worked for Bentley Motors in 1920s; Vauxhall Motors, 1912-16 and late 1930s; Rolls Royce from c1943 to 1957
