Largely comprises transcriptions of the diaries, 1932-40, of Collin Brooks, 1893-1959, journalist, editor, writer. Joined 'Financial News' as journalist. 1928, 1933 moved to the 'Sunday Despatch' where editor from 1935 and a confident of Lord Rothermere. Left 1938 to join the 'Daily Mail'. Late 1940s took up editorship of the weekly journal, 'The Truth'. An introduction [pp1-21] covers his life, career, writing, politics, etc. Diary content, while ranging over political and economic issues, gives insights into the newspapers he worked for, their owners and other press barons - Lord Rothermere, Lord Beaverbrook; Brendan Bracken
