Written in 1955 by Arthur Marshel, 1879-1962, who started work in 1909 at North Carloggas Clay Works, later a foreman there, and who in 1925 was appointed 'captain' at Trethora Clay Works from which he retired in 1947. These works were sometime owned by West of England Clay Co Ltd. Covers his childhood; war service; recreation; religious activities; family; but with much about his work experience and clay quarrying processes and their changes over time
