'British Dyestuffs Corp Ltd' in Imperial Chemical Industries Ltd and its Founding Companies. Vol 3. The history of United Alkali Co Ltd, 1890-1926, and the history of the British Dyestuff Corp Ltd, 1857-1926

In the late 1939 ICI Ltd launched a project to publish histories [in three volumes?] of its four constituent businesses which merged to form the firm in 1926. Of these the history of Nobels Explosives Co Ltd and Nobel Industries Ltd was published in 1938. The third volume, covering United Alkali Co Ltd and British Dyestuffs Corp Ltd, was planned for publication in 1939 but did not get beyond the final proof stage. Part of the proofs of this volume, covering United Alkali, is held in Cheshire Archives & Local History but the part covering British Dyestuffs is missing and its location [in 2018] is unknown. Nothing is known of the existence of Volume 2 which presumably covered Brunner, Mond & Co Ltd
