Notes:
Latterly Watson House was one of four research stations of the state owned British Gas Corp. It traced its origins to 1926 when established by the Gas Light & Coke Co Ltd as a scientific and technical training centre and, later, as a technical development centre. It was nationalised as part of North Thames Gas Board and acted as an appliance testing and development centre of the Gas Council before passing to British Gas Corp.
