Notes:

Traced origins to 1929 when established by Harold Crofton and Reginald Mann as Charles Crofton & Co (Engineers) Ltd. Initially specialised in mining equipment, especially electric drills which were manufactured until 1937 by British Engine Ltd under Victor trade name. Thereafter produced by Croftons at Wallsend. Renamed Victor Products (Wallsend) Ltd in 1944 when Mann became sole owner. Post 1945 diversified into other mining products and in products for other industries, such as oil and petrochemicals. Output included in particular electrical control equipment. Subsequently acquired by Federal Signal of USA
