Built for liner trade. 1912 acquired by Swan Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd. Stopped shipbuilding in 1967 and in 1975 sold ship repairing business to Yarrow (Shipbuilders) Ltd. Engine building nationalised as part of British Shipbuilders in 1977
