Established as Thomas R Bayliss, 1838-1914, in 1889 and was known as King's Norton Metal Co Ltd from 1890. He had formerly worked for Birmingham Small Arms Co Ltd in production of cartridge cases and military small arms ammunition. Built a large factory at King's Norton and from 1900 a second at Abbey Wood, near Woolwich, London. The former manufactured metal components and the latter assembled them and loaded the ammunition. Also in early 20th made high quality blanks for coin minting. 1918 acquired by Nobel Industries Ltd, subsequently part of ICI Ltd, in a merger of explosives/ammunition manufacturers. In liquidation 1929. Rolled brass and copper strip, made ammunition, minted coins, etc
