By 1860s acting as leading Newport shipbrokers, forwarding agents, exporters of coal to USA, importers of pit wood, etc. Early on established a Cardiff branch. 1865 renamed G W Jones Heard & Co and incorporated 1902 as Jones Heard & Co Ltd. Acted as local consuls for many countries. Eventually became Pascoe Holder Travel which closed in 1981
