Notes:
Established 1923 by John Foster Yeoman, d1949, as a stone quarrying business at Dulcote, near Wells, Somerset. Grew rapidly but declined, later to be revived by John Foster Yeoman from 1950s. 1959 opened second quarry followed in mid 1980s by a super granite quarry near Oban which was dependent on sea transport. Also developed important railway and shipping interests to support quarrying. 2006 acquired by Holcim Group and subsumed into Aggregate Industries Ltd
