Traced origins to Edward Curran, d1937, a mason, who in c1903 stated in business to repair and build industrial furnaces, especially for the non ferrous metal industry in south Wales and to a patented design. 1908 styled Curran Brothers. 1910 established Cardiff Foundry & Engineering Co Ltd to make furnance castings. 1911 established business in France. 1914-18 established Curran Metals & Munitions Ltd to make cartridge cases. 1920 formed Edward Curran & Co Ltd to make enamelled ware (hollowware). Post 1945 made process plant, especially connected with furnaces, enamelled ware, steel castings, etc. By early 1970s major manufacturer of baths. 1973 Edward Curran Engineering Ltd acquired by Reed Building Products
