Developed important property development and construction businesses involved in both commercial and residential work, as well as extensive property, retailing, coal mining, baking, car dealership and repair, etc, interests in South Wales. Had substantial interest in David Evans & Co Ltd, Cardiff department store business, and developed Castle & Central Cinemas Ltd. Initiated development of Pwllheli. Business renamed S Andrews & Son in 1884 and incorporated 1921. Business interests continued in late 20th century although very much reduced in scale
