Notes:

Edward Jarvis Cave, 1840-1923, started out as a jobbing artisan and in early 1860s built his first house in Kensington. By 1870s building rows of shops in Kings Cross, etc, for his own account and by 1880s well established as a builder, speculative developer and property owner. Subsequently built substantial blocks of flats in north London. 1900 bankrupt (never discharged) but resumed with his sons and other relatives, a vehicle of their's being Middlesex Building Co Ltd
