Ambrose Moore, 1788-1873, was a silk manufacturer who in c1823 took over the redundant Derby Ordnance Depot and converted it into a silk mill. He retired in 1841 when leased mill to others. Leading Derby citizen who was also a founder of the important London Joint Stock Bank
