Traced origins to 1930 when established by, inter alia, John Leonard Eve, 1887-1954, an electrical and civil engineer specialising in electricity transmission systems. He had sometime worked for Folkestone Electricity Supply Co Ltd, Wycombe Borough Electric Light & Power Co Ltd, Robert W Blackwell & Co Ltd and Foundation Co Ltd. When the latter ran in to difficulties in 1930 he acquired various of its assets and established J L Eve Construction Co Ltd. Specialised in designing and constructing electricity transmission systems as well as masts, aerials, etc. 1932 started general civil engineering work. 1932 established Switchgear & Equipment Ltd to manufacture parts. 1945 established Edinburgh office. 1988 renamed Eve Group Plc
