Grew rapidly to become a major cider producer by 1930s. Acquired Henley & Sons Cyder Co Ltd of Newton Abbot in 1932. Converted to public company 1934. Subsequently made numerous local acquisitions. 1972 merged with Showerings Ltd and Vine Products Ltd, the latter being makers of English wines, to form Showerings Vine Products & Whiteways Ltd. Acquired by Allied Breweries Ltd in 1968
