Notes:

Established 1857 at Vauxhall, London, by Alex Wilson as Alex Wilson & Co, later Vauxhall Iron Works. Made pumps and marine engines. 1903 made first motor car, in 1905 moved to Luton and in 1907 renamed Vauxhall Motors Ltd. 1925 acquired by General Motors of USA and in 1931 established Bedford Vehicles to make commercial vehicles. Made tanks 1939-45. 1960 established plant at Ellesmere Port. 1986 established IBC Vehicles as a joint venture with Isuzu of Japan to produce light vehicles including Vivaro and Frontera. 1994 discontinued Bedford commercial vehicles but continued to make vans. 2002 closed car manufacturing at Luton. Sometime renamed General Motors UK Ltd which in 2017 was acquired from General Motors by Groupe PSA
