From early 1830s published, via commercial publishers, the Nautical Magazine, a journal covering technical and professional issues which also sought to improve standards of navigation. From 1939 relocated to Taunton. Reorganised in recent years as United Kingdom Hydrographic Office, becoming in 1996 a trading fund within the Ministry of Defence. Continues
