Early on based in Shoreditch.1905 started to manufacture components and changed name to Rotax Motor & Cycle Co. 1909 opened also in Birmingham and in 1913 at Willesden. Gave up cycle components but started to make aircraft parts during 1914-18. By 1917 known as Rotax Motor Accessories and as Rotax (Motor Accessories) Ltd in 1921. Nobel Industries Ltd subsequently acquired a substantial shareholding. In 1926, when primarily a manufacturer of motor car components, was acquired by Joseph Lucas Ltd, later Lucas Industries. Continued for many years as an identifiable unit
