Established in 1852 as printers by William Roberts. Soon diversified into paper bag and wrapping paper production and printing. Known as Roberts Mart & Co from 1888 and incorporated 1890. In 1950s film bags became a major product. Discontinued printing in 1960s and diversified into plastic bags in mid 1970s, acquiring a polythene extrusion plant in 1983 as Romar Packaging Ltd of Huddersfield. Continues in 2008
