Charles Ackers, bc1702-59, was a City of London book printer from c1727 until his death in 1759. Friendly with the typefounder, William Caslon, 1692-1766. Part owner and printer of the successful 'London Magazine' from its establishment in 1732. Also had an interest in the 'Weekly Register'. c1748 joined in partnership by his son, John, d1756, trading as C & J Ackers. Prosperous but not prominent and mostly known on account of his surviving ledger [2023]
