Traced origins to 1817 when Paul Moore, 1798-1860, established himself as a diestamper, medallist and manufacturer of stamped jewellery. By 1829 had diversified into drawing brass and copper wire. 1835 also making tubes. 1842 acquired mills at Stroud which used wire to make pins. 1848 known as Paul Moore & Co and in 1870s trading as W H Moore when focused on making non ferrous wire and rolled strip. 1900 renamed W H Moore & Son; Sons from 1913. Incorporated 1947 when still family owned
