Traced origins to 1901 when established at West Norwood by Weller Brothers, initially making a touring car and soon after focusing on three wheel delivery vehicles as Autocars & Accessories. 1911 incorporated as Auto Carriers Ltd when moved to Thames Ditton. 1913 started again to make motor cars. 1921 Selwyn F Edge, formerly of Napier, joined and soon became governing director; 1927 had complete ownership. Known as AC Cars Ltd from 1922. 1929 acquired by Hurlock family, road hauliers, and their interest continued into 1980s. Then a small volume producer of sporty cars. Subsequently several owners and small volume producer of luxury sporty cars
