Notes:

Traced origins to international Tin Study Group, which was established in 1947 to investigate world supply / demand for tin. This resulted in the International Tin Agreement, 1954, and the formation of the International Tin Council, 1956. As an inter-government body of consumer and producer nations, it sought to promote the price stability of tin through such means as creation of buffer stocks, regulation of exports, price fixing, etc. Collapsed 1985 and finally closed 1990 [2023]
