Notes:

Established 1825 by William Harmer and a Mr Rivett. Early on traded variously as Rivett & Harmer and Rivett, Harmer & Son until 1859 when known as F W Harmer & Co. Initially cloth merchants selling locally Lancashire and Yorkshire textiles. 1850s started to manufacture ready made clothing and later hosiery. Came to specialise in men's and boy's clothing and lady's jackets and costumes. Early on had a London warehouse. Incorporated c1920s. Became a leading Norwich business. Closed 1990
