Sussex based landowning family with important interests as ironmasters, c1693-1763, casting ordnance for Board of Ordnance, apparently from the mid 17th century. Ironworks were centred on Heathfield Foundry and Burwash Forge. From early 18th century owned and managed sugar plantation in West Indies and had associated interests in slaves. Leading personalities were Rose Fuller, 1708-77, Stephen Fuller, 1716-99, John Fuller, d1722, John Fuller, 1680-1745, and John Fuller, 1706-55. By mid 18th century casting ordnance was in decline, the family having failed to invest in new technology. Heathfield Foundry closed 1787 and Burwash Forge in 1803 [2023]
