Traced origins to George Davidson, d1891, who in 1867 established a glassmaking business at Gateshead. He was succeeded by his son, Thomas, d1937. Specialised in production of pressed glass, initially for paraffin lamps, soon after diversifying into bottles, glasses, tableware and a wide range of other domestic products. Incorporated 1934. Innovative in terms of glass type, colour and products. Post 1945 acquired from Davidson family and in 1966 sold on to Abrahams & Co, manufacturers of brass fittings. By 1970s in decline. 1986 renamed Brama Davidson Sales Ltd. Finally wound up 1992
