Established 1935 by Leonard Dale, b1916, as electrical contractors at his family's home at Gristhorpe, installing and repairing electricity supply especially on farms. Incorporated 1947 as Dale Electric (Yorkshire) Ltd when focused on manufacturing generators followed by diesel pumps and electric welders shortly afterwards. 1950 set up a sales business to export machinery. Early 1950s started to supply and install electrical systems to outdoor events, eg agricultural shows. Diversified into plant hire. 1972 floated as Dale Electric International Ltd. Acquired c1990s by TT Electronics Plc
