Established in c1794 by Lord Dumfries and operated initially by James Taylor, 1753-1825, better known as a marine engineer, when made creamware and crucibles. He took a partnership interest. Subsequently leased to Robert Taylor (1825) and Alexander Hamilton (1838). By 1852 operated by Cumnock Pottery & Tile Co managed by Nicol family. Closed 1920
