Developed serives to North America, India and elsewhere. By 1873 Henderson family owned the business as well as a shipyard at Meadowside trading as D & W Henderson. 1899 reconstructed as Anchor Line (Henderson Brothers) Ltd and in 1911 acquired by Cunard Steam Ship Co Ltd when a leading Glasgow shipping business. Reconstructed 1935 as Anchor Line (1935) Ltd and acquired by United Molasses Co Ltd in 1949-53. Sold to Runciman & Co 1965 and by 1980s had ceased to operate ships.
