Established in London in 1902 when incorporated as Concordia Electric Wire Co Ltd. Made and sold wide range of wire and cable. Closed in 1914 on account of alien ownership and sold on in 1917 to the Knight family when relocated to Nottingham. Specialised in production of enameled wire. 1930 established a coil winding business. 1944 renamed Concordia Electric Wire & Cable Co Ltd and in same year started wire drawing. 1968 Thorn Electrical Industries Ltd acquired 32% interest. 1990 ceased production of enameled wire to focus on cable production. Continues as a supplier of cables
