Traced origins to late 1870s when Clement Joscelyne, d1906, opened a shop in Bishop's Stortford; he had formerly worked in the family's store in Braintree. Focused on sale of furniture and household goods. Incorporated as Clement Joscelyne in 1910 which was led by Clement's widow, Fanny, d1924. 1920s started upholstery, carpet cleaning, etc. Expanded rapidly post war. 1975 opened a branch in Bury St Edmunds followed by others. Continued as family owned furniture retailers and interior designers until c2011 when placed in administration. Trading name continues [2024]
