Notes:

Traced origins to the sheep skin dressing and rug and footwear making business of Cyrus Clark and Arthur Clothier, established at Street in 1822 and which develop as C & J Clark Ltd. Skin dressing and rug making moved to Glastonbury in c1871 as a separate business now known as Clark Son & Morland. Soon started to make footmuffs for use in motor cars. Incorporated 1899 and public company 1925. Output diversified further into footwear manufacture - slippers, fur boots, flying boots, overshoes, etc, until 1926 this output being sold to C & J Clark. Also made suede coats and dressed sheep skins for third parties. Still operating 1970s
