Notes:

Traced origins to 1893 when Herbert T Buckland, 1869-1951, set up in independent practice. In 1899 he was joined by Edward Haywood-Farmer, 1871-1917. The firm was noted for its arts and crafts contribution to Birmingham and specialised notably in middle class houses and schools. Especially active before the First World War. Unlike many Birmingham practices, worked quite extensively in other parts of the country. In 1914 William Haywood became a partner and from 1919 the firm was known as Buckland & Farmer
