Traced origins to 1816 when Hugh Carson and Henry Miller acquired Warminster Iron Foundry. Operated as 'millwrights, founders and smiths'. Made, inter alia, railings, mile posts, etc, and especially farm implements. By 1860 known as Carson & Toone. By 1870s specialised in ploughs, horse hoes, chaff cutters, hoists, etc. 1895 manufacturing oil and gas engines. 1903 sold to Turner & Gray who closed in 1909
