Traced origins to mid 1940s when Peter Hamilton Equipment Ltd started to assemble excavators imported from Hydraulic Machinery Co of USA at Rowesley, Derbyshire. Subsequently, c1962, manufactured and assembled by Rhynmey Engineering Co Ltd in South Wales, when broadened product range to include, inter alia, lifting equipment. From 1972 part of Powell Duffryn Group and sold by them in 1980. Subsequently several short term owners until closed 1993.
