Francis Conyers, father, c1763-1842, and son, 1787-1822, were gunmakers at Hull although not trading on their own account. The son's nephew, also Francis, 1822-81, established a gunmaking shop at Pocklington from c1847 which in due course became John Conyers & Son. It closed c1905. Another connection was Arthur Conyers, 1863-1951, a gunmaker at Blandford Forum, Dorset, from 1889.
