Traced origins to c1841 when James and Henry Harrison established themselves as cutlers. Possibly financed by heirs of John Brocksopp, iromaster. c1849 joined with William Howson to take over the business of Thomas Sansom & Sons and from then traded as Harrison Brothers & Howson. By 1870s electroplaters and silverplaters as well as cutlers. In 1880s and 90s acquired other businesses. 1900, when a leading Sheffield silverware firm, built major new works. Awarded royal warrants from Queen Victoria onwards. 1960 acquired by Viners Ltd
