Incorporated by Peter Ford in 1880 when based at Uttoxeter and when extracted alabaster at Fauld. Built plaster and cement works there in 1883. By 1920s growing by acquisition of cement and plaster businesses, eg Granite Silicon Plaster Co Ltd of London and Needwood Plaster & Cement Co Ltd of Draycott in the Clay. 1932 started to manufacture plasterboard via Pytho Plaster Board Co Ltd. 1936 acquired by British Plaster Board Ltd but continued as an identifiable unit, merging with J C Staton Co Ltd in 1947
