Established 1934 at Sywell Aerodrome as a civil flying training school, training RAF volunteer pilots. From 1939 repairing RAF aircraft under contract from businesses such as De Havilland, this activity continuing after 1945 but broadening into other areas of aero engineering. Gave up flying training in 1953. 1952-82 operated from a further airfield, at Little Staughton, as a supplement to the grass aerodrome at Sywell.
