Notes:

William Hazeldine, 1763-1840, initially worked as a millwright in the Shrewsbury area before specialising as an iron founder from 1789. He was brother of John, Robert and Thomas who as Hazeldine & Co established the well known iron foundry at Bridgnorth. 1799 built a large foundry at Plas Kynaston, Cefn Mawr, and subsequently had several works, mines, etc, in the Shrewsbury area. Noted for his pioneering structural castings, notably the iron structure of the world's first cast iron framed building, Ditherington Flax Mill, Shrewsbury, and for early iron bridges. Closely associated with Thomas Telford. By 1830s his business was in decline
