Aged 29 set up in business as a retailing and manufacturing chemist at Seven Sisters Road, London, where he also provided, with success, analytical services. 1875 diversified into mineral water manufacture under brand Idris Table Waters and soon focused entirely on this.1893 incorporated. 1897 public company. Works initially in Hampstead but in 1890s developed a major works at Camden Town
