Produced wide range of products but focused on generators, electric motors, steam turbines, etc, for emerging electricity industry, etc. Made petrol electric buses from 1907 and light bulbs under Mazda label from 1911. 1900 established principal works at Rugby. 1928 acquired by Metropolitan Vickers Electrical Co Ltd and the latter was acquired in 1929 by Associated Electrical Industries. However BHT Ltd retained its separate identity. Late 1930s worked with Power Jets Ltd in development of first jet engine.1967 AEI acquired by GEC
