Traced origins to 1769 when John Beale established a bakery in Oxford Street, central London. By 1829 Edward Beale was operating as a baker and confectioner in Islington. William Beale was in business from 1861 at Highgate Hill and in 1866 was in Holloway Rd and in 1889 built a large new bakery there. By 1897 was also involved in catering. In 1969 the Beale family were still operating their baking and catering business but then also had a small number of hotels and banqueting suites.
