Notes:

Operated since time of Elizabeth 1st. Early on operated by Comberford family when a 'sophisticated ironworking complex'. By 17th century was a relatively large industrial complex. From mid 17th century worked by Foley family until c1700; by 1704 worked by John Willets. In 18th century produced guns. By early 19th century through to 1929 operated by Elwell family, latterly trading as Edward Elwell Ltd, which had widespread industrial interests in West Midlands including edge tool making. Site closed 2005
