William F de Morgan, 1839-1917, was a designer and, later, maker of pottery, especially tiles, as well as stained glass, etc. Always produced on a small scale. Friendly with William Morris and closely connected with the Arts & Crafts Movement. Moved his pottery to Merton Abbey in 1881 and to Fulham in 1899 by when he was in partnership with Halsey Ricardo. His business in decline from c1903 and closed 1907
